Overview
Mission Statement: Provide community-wide education, planning, coordination, and continuity of government for the residents and visitors of the City of Litchfield Park in order to protect lives, property and the environment in the event of a natural, man-made disaster or act of terrorism.
Emergency management is the managerial function charged with creating the framework within which communities reduce vulnerability to hazards and cope with disasters. Citizen preparedness and public education play a vital role in any disaster scenario. The City of Litchfield Park contracts with the Goodyear Fire Department, City of Avondale Police Department and the Maricopa County Emergency Management Department to provide emergency responses in addition to emergency planning, mitigation and recovery functions.
